You may remember hearing about an Air Transat flight that left Brussels headed to Montreal
Monday, but was forced to land in Ottawa because of bad weather in Quebec. Passengers on board the
aircraft were kept inside for hours. The airline claimed the airport wasn't ready to receive them.
The airport authority strongly disagreed.
With all the understable anger towards its airline,The Air Transat Flight Attendants of CUPE Local 4047
that recently operated flight TS157 from Brussels to Montreal on July 31, 2017, relased a statement Thursday night claiming
its flight attendants are "alarmed and saddened by the innacurate and unfair media coverage
that ensued". Citing an abnormal sequence of events and also claiming their flight
attendants "acted in a prompt and professional manner and facilitated every possible element in order to ensure
the safety of air transat's passengers. On behalf of our members, it is of the utmost importance that not only are issues of this nature accurately reported, but that recognition is given to workers that go above and beyond in an effort to prioritize the safety and security of our travelling public.
