All four of Ontario's major teachers' union say they will stage a one-day walkout on February 21st.
The job action will see all public schools in the province closed for one day.
The news comes as hundreds of elementary teachers are protesting outside a downtown Toronto hotel today where Ontario's education minister is set to speak.
Stephen Lecce is scheduled to talk to the Canadian Club at the Royal York hotel about preparing students for the jobs of the future.
Teachers filled the sidewalk outside the hotel, stretching nearly the entire block.
They held signs criticizing the government's plan to increase class sizes and calling for Lecce to be fired.
