Leaders of different faiths stood shoulder to shoulder today with the Muslim Council of Peel following alleged hate crimes at a Mosque in Mississauga.
A video posted online shows a woman named Sandra Solomon tearing out pages of the Qur’an, placing them on vehicles, calling it a "satanic evil book."
She even goes into the Mosque during prayer service, antagonizing worshipers.
The Trudeau Liberals are being called on to strengthen online hate speech laws by regulating platforms where it festers and grows. "As of last night the 'Never Again Canada' facebook page had 217,000 followers. This particular video was shared over 100 times. We've reported this page to facebook and, yet, I believe it will likely do nothing," says Executive Director of the Muslim Council of Peel Rabia Khedr.
Ibrahim Hindy, the Iman of the mosque targeted by Sandra Solomon, was born and raised in Mississauga and is raising his children in the community. "Please do not mistake this assault on our Mosque as an attempt for conversation or a critique of religion. This was a plain attempt to instigate strife and to create civic tension and to profit off all of it."
Solomon claims she is a victim of rape, abuse, and has been denied access to her son because of Sharia law.
Peel police are investigating her actions as possible mischief with a hate bias.
