After six years riding the red rocket Andy Byford wants off.
Byford has announced he is leaving his job as CEO of the TTC to take the role of president and CEO of New York City Transit.
Byford came to the TTC in 2011 as chief operating officer. He took over chief executive duties the following year after Gary Webster was fired over his opposition to Rob Ford's subway plans.
Byford will say goodbye to the TTC in mid-December to coincide with the opening of the Toronto-York Spadina subway extension.
