The Beaches Easter Parade is the largest and longest running Easter Parade in the world.
And on Sunday it will take over Queen St. again.
The parade will start at 2 p.m. and run from Queen Street East and Munro Park Avenue, and continue along Queen Street East to Woodbine Avenue.
A full road closure will take place on Queen Street East, and parts of Nursewood Road, Woodbine Avenue, and Lake Shore Boulevard East.
A number of secondary roads will also be closed or partially closed, affecting traffic flow in the area.
Four-time Olympic medallist and Beaches resident Penny Oleksiak will be one of the parade's grand marshals.
The parade was created in 1967 by the East Toronto Community Association to mark Canada’s Centennial year, according to the Toronto Beaches Lions Club website.
In 1973, the Toronto Beaches Lions Club started to take an active role in the organization and supervision of the parade.
By 1981, the Lions became the official organizer of the event.
It used to run along the boardwalk.
But due to its increasing popularity, the parade was moved to Queen Street in 1974.
Today, over 50,000 people from around the world enjoy the parade.
