Toronto Police have made an arrest in the vandalism of the Cenotaph outside Old City Hall.
The words "Ye broke faith with us" were spray painted on the monument the day after Remembrance day.
33-year-old Thomas Zaugg is charged with Mischief - Under ($5000) and Mischief - Interfere with Lawful Enjoyment of Property.
Zaugg, it would appear, is upset about the firing of Don Cherry.
In a lengthy letter on his Facebook page, addressed to Toronto Mayor John Tory and Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie, Zaugg speaks in support of Cherry and admits to the vandalism.
He writes, "What Don Cherry said was not racist, hateful or directed at immigrants."
The letter concludes with, "You people, the perpetually offended hyper-sensitive adult children, are ruining our society. And that’s why I spray painted the Cenotaph."
