A group of Jewish teens were attacked, robbed
After first declaring it a "possible" hate crime, Toronto Police are now categorically calling an attack on a group of young Jewish teens a hate crime.
"As chief I want to reassure the public that we will unturn every stone to locate and apprehend every person that is a suspect to this investigation," Toronto Police Chief mark Saunders promises.
One arrest has been made and police could be looking for as many as nine other suspects.
The victims were walking in the bathurst and Lawrence area on Sunday at around 8 o'clock when the alleged attack took place.
Police say that the teens were wearing their religious attire and when they passed their alleged attackers, derogatory slurs were made about the Jewish religion.
One of teens suffered minor injuries and a pair of sunglasses were stolen.
