Toronto Police are searching for the driver of a white SUV after a little boy was struck on Dundas St. West, between Runnymede and Keele.
Police spokesperson Katrina Arrogante told NEWSTALK1010 it happened just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday near Gilmour Avenue.
"The vehicle and the driver remained on scene for a very short period of time, from the initial report, and had been reported to have left the scene since," she said.
The boy was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He is believed to be between five and eight years old.
"Police are looking for a white SUV that allegedly struck the child," Arrogante added, saying they didn't know the exact direction in which the vehicle left the scene.
Dundas was closed between Gilmour Place and St. John's Place for about two hours as Traffic Services undertook the investigation. It has since re-opened.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is asked to call Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers.
