A seven-year-old boy is in hospital, after he fell about 6 feet at a Toronto public school.
The injuries were originally reported as life threatening.
It happened around 11:30 on Monday morning at Dundas Jr Public School, near Broadview and Dundas, while the students were headed to their lunchroom.
The school boadr says the boy appeared to be attempting to slide down the railing, when he fell to a landing below.
"Approximately 8-10 stairs below." says board spokesperson Ryan Bird.
The student was knocked unconscious, but regained consciousness before being taken to hospital.
Bird says in hospital, he appears to be doing better.
"It's our understanding he is responsive."
The school houses about 280 students in grades junior kindergarten to grade five.
