Toronto Police want you to keep an eye out for these World War II-era medals.
Investigators believe they were among numerous items stolen from a home during a break-in early last Saturday morning.
The box they were stored in was found a short distance from the home, but the medals were gone.
Const. David Hopkinson describes the medals as 'rare' but was unable to say how much they might be worth.
The law prevents the authorities from releasing details about alleged victims of crime, but NEWSTALK 1010 has learned that these medals were awarded to Canadian or British Commonwealth soldiers who served in combat in Europe or in volunteer capacities.
It is unclear whether the medals were stolen from the person or persons they were awarded to, or whether they made their way into the hands of a relative or a collector.
Hopkinson points out that the motive for theft is typically financial gain, so officers will be watching to see if these artifacts appear for sale in the near future.
