Canadian actress and activist Shirley Douglas has died.
Her son, actor Keifer Sutherland, made the announcement on Twitter, saying that she died from complications surrounding pneumonia Sunday morning.
He added that her death was not connected to the coronavirus; she had been ill for some time.

The veteran actress, a native of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, worked with famous directors like David Cronenberg and Stanley Kubrik, among others.
She was the daughter of medicare'sTommy Douglas, who served as premier of Saskatchewan from 1944 to 1961; he was leader of the New Democratic Party from 1961 to 1971.
A Gemini award-winner, Shirley Douglas, was married to Canadian actor Donald Sutherland; the couple had twins - Keifer and his sister Rachel - before they divorced.
She was 86.
