Global Affairs Canada reports a Canadian citizen has died in Trinidad and Tobago.
Ste. Madeleine Police in Trinidad & Tobago confirmed to Newstalk 1010 the victim is 56-year-old Vishnu Narine from Ontario.
They say his body was found Friday morning near a pond. An autopsy is being conducted to determine cause of death.
Police say Narine was visiting the area for several weeks.
The Trinidad Express reports Narine’s family told police he was last seen alive on Thursday night and was carrying $10,000 in cash when he was dropped off at Starlite Recreation Club in Palmyra.

Global Affairs Canada sends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the Canadian killed in Trinidad and Tobago.
Consular services are being provided to the family of the Canadian citizen who has died.
Consular officials in Trinidad Port of Spain are in contact with local authorities to gather additional information. Due to the provisions of the Privacy Act, further details cannot be disclosed at this time.
