A candlelight vigil will be held at Nathan Phillips Square tonight for the victims of that deadly explosion in Beirut on Tuesday, that left at least 158 people dead and thousands more injured and homeless.
A number of dignitaries and business leaders have been invited to the event.
The event is from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
The city will light up the Toronto sign to show support for the Lebanese community.
Meantime, the Canadian government has announced it will match individual donations from Canadians to the Humanitarian Coalition, a group of 12 established aid organizations working on the ground in Lebanon.
Ottawa has already pledged five-million dollars in emergency aid, but says it will match Canadians' donations up to two-million dollars.
Canada is directing all of its aid for this crisis directly to humanitarian organizations, not the Lebanese government, to ensure the assistance goes to those in need.
