Budget cuts are soon going to have an effect on teachers in Toronto.
Both Catholic high school, and elementary teachers will soon have to pay for parking.
CTV is reporting the new parking fees were approved at a meeting on Tuesday night, which means full-time teachers and administrators would have to pay $10 per day to park on school property.
The Board Chair told CTV, that this new measure is a "new part of reality" to ensure student programs continue in the wake of funding cuts from the provincial government.
We still don't know when the fees would come into effect, and questions remain about who will enforce the new paid parking. But there's the expectaton that the new fees could raise as much as $6 million.
Obviously, the unions aren't happy about the move, with the union representing the elementary teachers calling it a "rolling back" of teachers' salaries.
