Visible minorities are now a majority of the population in Toronto, according to the latest census data from Statistics Canada.
The data shows that 51 per cent of those who live in the city identify themselves as visible minorities, up from 49 per cent in 2011.
Other GTA cities also have a majority population of visible minorities - Mississauga, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Markham and Ajax.
Markham tops the list at 78 per cent of those who identify as non-white. On the other end of the scale, only 16 per cent of people living in Burlington and Oshawa are visible minorities.
Across the GTA, the proportion of non-white residents sits at 49 per cent.
