The founder and CEO of a Toronto-based company that makes women's undershirts has been charged in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that happened last September.
35-year old Michelle Shemilt was arrested on Thursday.
A 57-year old man was struck and killed by a vehicle, in the area of Carlton and Parliament Streets.
Allegations are Shemilt was behind the wheel and took off after the collision.
Shemilt is accused of leaving the scene of a crash and criminal negligence causing death.
She will appear before a judge next month.
Shemilt and her company, now called Numi, have appeared on the TV series Dragon's Den, and her products were showcased on the Today Show.
