Charges have been laid in an Oshawa fire that killed four people in Oshawa.
The landlord and two residents are among the people who have been charged under the province's fire code.
The fire at the two-story building on Centre St North, back on January 8th, claimed the lives of two adults and two children.
It was the City of Oshawa, who released the announcement that charges had been laid, after they'd received the final report from the Ontario Fire Marshall's officer.
Charged is the company that owned the building, along with two directors, and two people who lived on the main floor, where the fire began.
Most of the charges have to do with the fact that there were no working smoke detectors in the building, or a failure to report that fact to the landlord.
As a matter of fact, one of the people living on the ground floor, is the daughter of Steven Macdonald, who ran back in to the burning building to try and rescue people inside.
Durham Regional Police have also opened an investigation into the fire.
