A church service dedicated to long-time councillor and deputy mayor Pam McConnell is being held Sunday morning.
McConnell died in hospital on Friday at the age of 71. She had been admitted just the day before.
Her death shocked councillors, who decided to adjourn a long council meeting when they heard the sad news.
McConnell was first elected as councillor in 1994, after 12 years as a school trustee.
Her family, mayor John Tory and a group of councillors will be attending this morning's service at the Metropolitan Community Church in Riverdale.
The public is invited to attend. The service starts at 10:45 a.m.
