Sunday's CIBC Run for the Cure will close down several roads around Toronto starting at 6 a.m., rain or shine.
About 20,000 participants raising money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will either take part in a 5 kilometre or 1 kilometre run or walk, which kicks off at 10 a.m.
The road closures are as follows:
- Wellesley Street West, from Queen's Park Crescent East to Queen's Park Crescent West (6 a.m.)
- Hoskin Avenue, from Queen's Park Crescent West to St. George Street (7 a.m.)
The following run routes will be shut down to vehicular traffic starting at 9 a.m.:
For the 5 km route:
- Start line: Hart House Circle at Wellesley Street West (Formation Area)
- Eastbound Wellesley Street West to Queen's Park Crescent East
- Southbound Queen's Park Crescent East/University Avenue to Armoury Street
- Turnaround at Armoury Street to northbound University Avenue
- Northbound University Avenue/Queen's Park Crescent West to Bloor Street West
- Westbound Bloor Street West to St. George Street
- Southbound St. George Street to College Street
- Eastbound College Street to King’s College Road
- Northbound King’s College Road to finish line at King’s College Circle
- Finish Line: King’s College Circle (Dispersal Area)
For the 1 km route:
- Start line: Hart House Circle, through Soldier’s Tower, to Tower Road
- Northbound Tower Road to Hoskin Avenue
- Westbound Hoskin Avenue to St. George Street
- Southbound St. George Street to College Street
- Eastbound College Street to King’s College Road
- Northbound King’s College Road to finish line at King’s College Circle
- Finish Line: King’s College Circle (Dispersal Area)
Vehicles will not be allowed to park along any of these routes starting from 6 a.m. Participants will be using all lanes in each direction for the run and walk.
All routes will re-open at about 12 p.m.
