The City of Toronto is taking another step to better communicate road closures to drivers.
Mayor John Tory officially launched a partnership with Waze, the world's largest traffic and navigation app that you can download on your smartphone.
"By using Waze, all motorists will have access to the City of Toronto's data real-time, and be able to avoid road closures, construction and traffic jams," Tory says.
Users would be alerted to closures like last weekend's Santa Claus Parade or new road rules like the King Street pilot project that doesn't let you go through the intersections.
The city says it will also be able to use anonymous Waze driver and traffic information to make data-driven infrastructure decisions.
There are more than 560,000 active Waze app users in the Toronto area.
