A motion by a Toronto city councillor on alternative ways to deal with bickering neighbours lives to see another day.
Stephen Holyday's request to have staff examine possible conflict resolutions that wouldn't involve a bylaw officer got unanimous approval at committee.
He became concerned over the Summer that some were abusing the system. One Etobicoke neighbourhood filed 47 complaints against 18 homeowners that are all within a block of each other.
Staff will now examine options that will include the possibility of having a third-party deal with conflicting neighbours through community mediation.
Holyday says it will likely take several months before staff returns to committee with its reports.
