No summer weekend in Toronto is complete without closures, especially those that are festival and construction-related.
The City of Toronto has listed the following shutdowns for the weekend of July 14-15:
-Lakeshore Boulevard West between Strachan Avenue and Ontario Drive is closed until Sunday at midnight for the Honda Indy. In addition, the westbound curb and middle lanes of Lakeshore Boulevard West between Strachan Avenue and Ontario Drive will be closed from Sunday at midnight to Monday at 6 a.m.
-All southbound lanes on Allen Road from Lawrence Avenue West to Eglinton Avenue West, starting at 11 p.m. Friday and wrapping up at 5 a.m. Monday. This is to accommodate work on the Eglinton Crosstown.
-Bloor Street between Jane Street and Runnymede Road will be closed in both directions on Saturday from 6 a.m. to midnight for the Bloor West Village BIA Festival. The event will also lead to partial closures on Willard Avenue, Windermere Avenue, Durie Street and Beresford Avenue.
-Asquith Avenue between Yonge Street and Park Road will be closed on Saturday from 5 to 11 a.m. for the Festival of India.
And not to be missed:
-TTC Line 1 is closed all weekend between Lawrence and St. Clair stations due to Eglinton Crosstown construction. Shuttle buses will be running in place along Yonge Street. The closure means parking will be restricted on Yonge St. between Eglinton and St. Clair Aves. (Saturday only), Lawrence Ave. W. outside of Lawrence Station, St Clair Ave. E. outside of St. Clair Station, and on Bedford Park Ave., Avoca Ave. and Pleasant Blvd.
