There's a question about whether the labs at the Ontario coroner's office in Toronto are being properly cleaned.
About two dozens workers went on strike Thursday after their employer refused to give them a one dollar raise.
The Teamsters union employees are cleaners. On top of building maintenance work, they do specialized cleaning of the labs used for autopsies.
There are other cleaners in the building who are directly employed by the government, while some work is contracted out to Carillion, a private company whose employees recently joined the union.
The public workers get paid $22 an hour while the Carillion workers get only $15, even though the union says they do almost the same job.
NEWSTALK 1010 has reached out to the Ministry of Community Safety to ask whether the autopsy work they're doing in the building is being affected by the strike.
