Toronto city councillors have approved a revamped road safety plan that includes lower speed limits on dozens of city streets.
Councillors voted unanimously on Tuesday, in favour of Vision Zero 2.0.
Stretches of major routes including Yonge, Finch, Eglinton, Bathurst and others will see their speeds reduced, generally by 10 km/hr.
The new plan includes other measures as well. The city is looking at installing more sidewalks and mid-block crossings.
A staff report says the new plan will cost $123 million between 2020 and 2024.
