A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Mississauga's Credit Valley Hospital, after four patients tested positive.
Trillium Health Partners says in a statement that immediate precautions have been taken to protect patients and staff.
"The four patients identified as having positive COVID-19 tests are being safely relocated to a unit exclusively caring for patients with COVID-19," the statement said.
"All other patients on the unit are being actively monitored for symptoms associated with COVID-19."
The news comes after eight patients at Toronto Public Health tested positive for the virus Monday.
Ontario reported 260 new cases Tuesday, with an overall total of just under 2,000.
534 cases are now considered resolved, with the ministry of health reporting 291 people are hospitalized, with 82 requiring ventilators.
There have also been 33 deaths in the province.
