It's no laughing matter. Three teenagers have been charged in Oshawa after allegedly pulling on clown masks, driving around, aiming to give people a fright.
Durham Regional Police say they got calls last Friday about a grey car driving dangerously near Simcoe St N and Taunton Rd. The three people inside were wearing clown masks. According to witnesses the passengers leaned out the car's open doors and windows while it was moving, trying to scare people.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with causing a nuisance and with careless driving. An 18-year-old woman and a second 19-year-old man face are each charged with causing a nuisance.
Durham Police warn that anyone who jumps on the creepy clown could be charged. Police say they have responded to 31 calls about clowns in Durham so far in the month of October.
