The city of Toronto has recorded its 15th homicide of 2019.
A man in his 20s has died after being shot in broad daylight in the area of Bloor Street West and Landsdowne Avenue at around 3:30 p.m.
"I can say there were multiple rounds fired. Not having viewed the deseased I don't know how many times he was shot. That will be part of the post-mortem examination sometime tomorrow or Thursday," says Det. Sgt. Rob North.
This is believed to have been a targeted hit. "I can tell you we are looking for, at least, one suspect who is described as a male. Again, we're very early in the investigation. The male was seen leaving the area of 21 Randolph Ave. approaching Perth Ave. and then fleeing on foot in an unknown direction," North describes.
Police are appealing to anyone in the neighbourhood who may have dash cam or surveillance video to please get in touch.
