Toronto police are investigating the city's 70th homicide of the year.
Police were sent to a medical call at an east-end address near the Don River at about 4 p.m. Wednesday and found an elderly woman with ``obvious signs of trauma.''
The coroner was called and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
One person was taken into custody but it was not immediately clear if charges have been laid.
Police say the homicide squad has taken over the case.
No names have been released, nor have police indicated how the woman died.
