Durham police are investigating after decapitated livestock was found on a popular beach in Pickering over the long weekend.
Police say several headless chickens and a goat were found by people enjoying the lakefront at about 10:30 a.m. Monday.
The beach is in the middle of a residential neighbourhood, and there are no farms nearby.
Investigators are trying to figure out who decapitated the animals and how they got to the beach.
Last week, we learned that three cat heads have been found in a field near Peterborough the past month.
Durham police say it is too early to know if the cases are related.
