About two dozen protestors are occupying the Toronto office of the Federal Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, Carolyn Bennett.
Dozens more are positioned outside the office.
Demonstrator, Vanessa Gray, tells our media partner CP24 they are there in solidarity with First Nations protestors who are opposed to the Coastal Gaslink pipeline being built in Northern B.C.
"They are our friends, they are teachers, they are doctors, they are people just living on their own land and we are standing in solidarity with them."
They are also calling on the minister to order the RCMP to stand down and stop arresting protestors on Wet'suwet'en territory.
"We are here to support them, but also shame the Canadian Government for allowing this to have to happen."
The minister is not on site, but the group has had contact with her over the phone.
"We got her on the phone earlier, where she claims she has no power in the issue. Well, as Indigenous people, we have heard her again and again talk about reconciliation and a military response to a healing centre is not reconciliation and we're here to say that reconciliation is dead."
The group plans to remain inside the minister's office all night.
