A weekend visit to the Distillery District's wildly popular Toronto Christmas Market this holiday season will cost you an extra loonie.
The market introduced $5 admission on weekends in 2015 in an effort to control crowds. This year, organizers have increased the fee to $6 with net proceeds going to charities including the Daily Bread Food Bank.
While organizers did not charge admission on Friday nights last year, this year you will have to pay up starting at 5 p.m. Fridays. The market remains free Tuesday-Friday before 5 p.m.
New in 2016 you can pay $20 and bypass any wait to get into the market. Organizers suggest buying tickets online.
You can visit the Christmas Market for free on its opening day November 18. The market runs until December 22.
