Reports Toronto mayoral candidate Doug Ford is considering running for the leadership of the Ontario PC Party.
CP24 says sources tell them Ford is meeting with possible donors, staff, and supporters Sunday to discuss the possibility.
An announcement of his decision could come as early as Monday.
This news comes after a leadership shake up in the party after Patrick Brown resigned following sexual misconduct allegations. Brown strongly denies the allegations.
Other names being thrown around as possible leadership candidates include the runner-up in the last leadership race Christine Elliot and daughter of former prime minister Brian Mulroney, Caroline Mulroney.
Tory finance critic Vic Fedeli is interim leader, and he says he will be running in the race.
PC Party president Rick Dykstra said Saturday they expect the race to end no later than March 24.
The next provincial election is on June 7.
