A 69-year-old man is dead following a collision on Highway 407 at rush hour, Wednesday.
OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt said officers were called to the scene in the eastbound lanes, near Jane, at 5:30 p.m.
"The collision involved three vehicles," Schmidt told NEWSTALK1010. "The driver of one of the vehicles was without vital signs [and] was transported to hospital."
"He was pronounced dead later [Wednesday] evening."
The eastbound lanes had to be shut down between Highway 400 and Keele Street, but were expected to re-open between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m.
Schmidt said there were no other injuries reported, and the drivers and occupants of the other two vehicles remained at the scene.
Schmidt said the investigation is looking into all possible causes, including a medical incident.
As of Wednesday evening, no charges had been laid.
