It was a crash that devastated a family in Markham.
A mother and her four-year-old daughter both killed, in an instant.
Almost two months ago, on August 29th, at 9:40 in the morning, officers with York Regional Police were called to an area around 16th Avenue and Bur Oak Avenue.
It was a head on collision between a black Infiniti G35 and a Toyota Carolla.
A 42-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Toyota was killed, her daughter also succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
Now, police have charged the driver of the Infiniti, claiming he was drunk at the time of the crash.
28-year-old Christopher Singh from Markham, had his one-year-old daughter strapped in to his car, but she survived with only minor injuries.
Singh is facing two counts of impaired driving causing death, two counts of over 80 causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing death.
He'll be in court on November 10th.
