Durham Regional police have identified a body found in Oshawa Harbour back in September.
The torso of 18-year-old Rori Hache was found floating in the Oshawa lakefront after police were called to Simcoe Street South and Harbour Road on Sept. 11 after a fisherman had reported the sighting.
On Thursday, officers confirmed the identity of the Oshawa-resident.
Hache was reported missing by her family after she was last seen on Aug. 29. A news release was issued on Sept. 18 by Durham police regarding her disappearance.
After confirming her identity, police are asking anyone who had contact with Hache prior to Sept. 11 to contact investigators at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 5407 or ext. 5319.
This is the eighth homicide in Durham Region this year.
