Kids heading back to class at Earl Grey Senior Public School on Tuesday will have to keep their phones out of sight.
The East York Middle school is banning cellphones from classrooms and hallways after complaints from parents and teachers about distractions.
A note went home to parents last week.
Phones will be allowed during lunch hour but students will not be allowed to text, use social media, or watch and record video.
TDSB spokesperson Ryan Bird tells our sister station, CP24, that it's up to each school to make their own rules on cell phone use. "Right now, it's really what works best for each individual school based on consultations with parents and staff."
