Toronto Police are investigating after an elderly man was hit by a car in North York overnight.
Spokesperson Gary Long told NEWSTALK1010 it happened just after 1 a.m. on Sheppard between Wilmington and Allen Road, just east of the Sheppard West subway station.
"It is reported and alleged the driver of the vehicle got out and looked at the pedestrian and then got back into his vehicle and drove away," Long said. "He was last seen eastbound on Sheppard."
The victim, 83, was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital with life-threatening head injuries.
His current condition isn't known.
Long says the investigation is under the lead of Traffic Services and investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision - or who has dashcam video of the incident - to come forward.
