It's not a huge risk at this point, but Environment Canada is giving people a heads up about a system moving through the eastern part of the GTA into Southeastern Ontario that could produce tornadoes this afternoon.
The weather agency says funnel clouds are possible, along with thunderstorms, wind gusts up to 70 kilometres per hour and pea sized hail.
Officials say rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms can generate these particular types of funnel clouds and while they are not normally a danger near the ground, there's the possibility of a rotation intensifying and becoming a "weak landspout tornado."
