Former radio host Mike Bullard has breached his bail conditions, NEWSTALK 1010 has learned.
Sources say that he has arranged to turn himself in to police Friday after investigators found out he was not residing with his surety, a person who takes responsibility for someone out on bail.
Bullard faces five charges, including criminal harassment, obstruction of justice and breaching conditions, stemming from his relationship with CityTV journalist Cynthia Mulligan.
Bullard has said it all started with what he called a bad breakup.
His case has been slowly moving its way through the court system. The matter was delayed when he changed lawyers.
Bullard's lawyers have been trying to reach a resolution with the Crown prosecutor.
NEWSTALK 1010 has reached out to Bullard and lawyer Bill Halkiw for comment, but have not received a response.
Ed Prutschi, NEWSTALK 1010's chief legal analyst, says breach charges are very common in the legal system, especially ones involving a surety.
He says while failing to comply with bail conditions is typically not as serious as the original charges someone faces, it can give the Crown prosecutor leverage in the case and they might decide to seek to revoke bail.
