A devastated family wants answers.
They've hired a lawyer to try to get to the bottom of their two-year-old girl's tragic death.
Crystal Mirogho died when an air conditioner fell from the eight floor of a Toronto Community Housing building near Lawrence and Scarborough Golf Club Road.
Now, lawyer Slavko Ristich tells CP24 they'll be looking into how this happened.
"The family was under the understanding...that none of these window units were supposed to be in windows that weren't under balconies. So, we want to figure out exactly where this air conditioning unit was located."
He says they also want to know why it happened in such a high traffic area outside the building.
A gofundme page has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses and to help them move to another building.
Toronto Community Housing is also investigating. They say tenants need permission to install an air conditioner.
Toronto Police have said they don't expect to lay charges.
