Police have charged the father of the toddler who died after he was left in a hot vehicle in Burlington last week.
Officers and paramedics were called to an office building near the QEW and Brant St on Wednesday evening, where a 3-year-old boy had been left inside an SUV and wasn't breathing.
The paramedics were not able to revive the boy.
An autopsy showed he died of hyperthermia.
His father, 37-year-old Shaun Pennell, is facing charges of criminal negligence causing death and failing to provide the necessities of death.
Pennell is to appear in court on June 27.
