Ontario's PC government has announced the chair of the LCBO, Edmund Clark, will be leaving his post later this month.
"Following discussions with Mr. Clark, we have agreed that he will step down as the Chair of the LCBO on August 30, 2018," says a news release from the province's Finance Minister Vic Fedeli, late Friday afternoon.
He also thanked Clark for his "advice and support he has provided over the last few weeks on a number of files," adding that Clark has demonstrated true leadership and has been dedicated to public service.
Clark has worked in both the public and private sector for the past 40 years. The release says he is helping the PC government ensure a smooth transition to the next chair at the LCBO.
Clark served as former Premier Kathleen Wynne's business adviser from 2015 until this January, when he was nominated by the former Liberal government's Finance Minister Charles Sousa to chair the LCBO board of directors.
