Fiat Chrysler workers represented by the Canadian union Unifor will vote Sunday on whether to agree to a new contract.
The two sides reached a last-minute tentative agreement during the Thanksgiving weekend.
It includes a $325 million investment to overhaul FCA’s Brampton, Ontario, paint shop, which was aging and in need of repair, as well as pay raises and changes to pension plans for new workers.
Voting starts at 9 a.m. and results are expected tonight.
If members reject the contract, 9,750 employees in Canada will be in a strike position but if it's ratified, Unifor will begin negotiating with Ford Motor Co. on Monday, with a tentative strike deadline set for Oct. 31.
