And just like that Toronto and the GTA became a winter wonderland Thursday afternoon.
A low pressure system from the American Eastern Seaboard is bringing plenty of the white stuff for the first signifcant snow fall of the year.
Environment Canada has issued a special Winter weather travel advisory through Friday morning.
The system will also bring poor visibility and blowing snow as it continues through the overnight and into Friday's morning commute.
Speaking to NEWSTALK 1010 Thursday afternoon, CTV Toronto Weather anchor Tom Brown told Jay and Ryan on the Rush that the worst of the snow will make for a very messy Friday morning drive to work.
"It looks like we're going to probably pick up somewhere in the ballpark of 7-9 centimetres of snow by 3 o'clock by tomorrow afternoon."
Motorists should plan for extra time to reach their destination.
This is the largest snowfall event so far this season, and the first significant snowfall for many parts of the Golden Horseshoe.
The snow will become mixed with rain on Friday as temperatures edge above the zero degree mark.
