Two of the four people handed jobs by Premier Doug Ford yesterday have had them taken away.
After criticism levelled at the PC government, they have quickly revoked two of the posts, according to multiple reports.
Taylor Shields and Tyler Albrecht have lost posts that paid between $165,000 and $185,000 a year. The job was to drum up business in Ontario from the U.S. and the U.K.
Both Shields and Albrecht have ties to Ford's chief of staff Dean French.
Shields is reportedly the second cousin of French's wife, and 26 year-old Albrecht played lacrosse with French's son.
The Ford government reportedly plans to turn elsewhere to fill the now vacant roles.
On Thursday the Premier's office called all the appointees "highly qualified across a broad range of sectors and skill sets."
Two other positions were given to Jag Badwal and Earl Provost.
Badwal is the former PC party president and Provost was a one-time chief of staff to former Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.
Badwal and Provost will remain in their roles as agents-general.
