A man who was once a janitor at Toronto Western Hospital, has pleaded guilty to 10 sex-related charges involving children.
NEWSTALK1010 confirmed the details.
55-year-old Terrence Noftall was charged in connection with the alleged assaults of four children, between the years 1997 and 2016.
The first alleged victim, was a boy whose mother had befriended Noftall, at the hospital, where they both worked.
Noftall was hired at the hospital, even though he'd been earlier arrested and was a registered sex offender.
At the time of his arrest, the University Health Network admitted that not all employees were subjected to background checks at the time of their hire.
When asked if the hospital has changed their policy, they replied to NEWSTALK 1010 with the following statement:
"UHN requests police background checks for all new employees prior to hire. This policy is in place since June 2018 and the new employee is the one responsible to provide the background check to HR."
