Toronto medical officer of health has issued a heat warning, on top of Environment Canada's, for what is expected to be the hottest weekend of the year.
This is just the fourth heat warning of 2017, the last one on June 17. That's compared to 14 issued in 2016.
Environment Canada forecasts highs of 32 C Saturday and 33 C Sunday, but add in the humidity and it will feel more like 40.
A press release from the city reminds everyone: "During a heat warning, members of the public are encouraged to visit family, friends and neighbours, especially isolated adults and seniors who are at greater risk of suffering from heat-related illness, to make sure they are cool and drinking plenty of fluids."
To help alleviate the heat the city has reopen splash pads which were turned off last Sunday. They will be open until Monday.
