Mother nature throwing Toronto another weather curve ball.
It appears the freezing rain that was forecast to hit the city in time for the Monday night evening commute, has been downgraded.
According to Environment Canada's Mark Shuster, the city will likely miss the freeze.
"The Toronto area will see less of a threat of freezing rain because it looks like the temperatures will be slightly warmer than originally expected. If you're south of the 401 it looks like there probably won't be any freezing rain."
But Shuster adds the special weather statement for freezing rain issued by Environment Canada remains in effect for areas north of the city that could hit as early as Sunday night.
" There is still a threat of freezing drizzle tonight and some freezing rain during the day on Monday. Across the northern GTA there could be some(freezing rain) for a few hours, especially if you move towards Eastern Ontario.
