A fourth teacher union in Ontario, says they are ready to start a work-to-rule campaign.
Teachers with French-language school boards will begin their job action on Thursday, following a strike vote held in December.
The results of that vote indicated that 97% of members were in favour of strike action.
In a release, the union representing 12,000 teachers and educational workers, say the job action will mostly affect administrative duties.
“AEFO knows that strike action may have an impact on the daily life of Franco-Ontarian students and their families and asks parents to understand that the union is only resorting to these measures as a last resort,” says the union. "AEFO must share responsibility for decisions taken at the negotiating table and cannot agree to participate in the deterioration of the Franco-Ontarian education system."
This announcement comes a day after teachers with Catholic boards announced plans to begin a similar withdrawl of duries. They've also planned a one-day strike on January 21st.
Elementary teachers and public high school teachers have been working-to-rule since November of last year.
There's around 20 French-language schools in Toronto.
