Some anxious moments for residents and business on queen street west this morning.
a gas leak, likely caused by contractors working in the area, forced the evacuation of some of those businesses.
the epicentre was at 490 queen west between portland st. and augusta avenue at around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
Toronto Fire and Police Services moved into cordon off the area as crews from Enbridge worked on capping the leak.
According to spokesperson Mark Wilson, the issue was resolved fairly quickly.
"It was a service line, a single service line servicing a proper one-inch service line."
Although Wilson couldn't confirm the official cause of the leak.
At about 10:30 a.m. the evacuation order was lifted.
